MOLSON INDY - CART
Alex Tagliani dominated the first 60 laps of the Molson Indy Montreal, but a gamble on strategy failed to bring the Canadian the first win he craved, especially in front of his home fans, but it was Michel Jourdain who drove a perfect race to victory.

With Bruno Junqueira out of the points, things looked good for Paul Tracy. But Tracy, ran out of fuel on the final lap, and lost two places on the run to the flag. Tracy has still extended his series lead to 28pts... but it could have been 32 with just five races remaining.

* Today's race-day crowd of 58,000 pushed the three-day attendance for the Molson Indy Montreal to 148,000.
