Cops keep Julep contained by sweeping MC
It had to happen--MC got swept. As we were arriving there around 9:30p, we noticed that cars were sparsely sputtered everywhere, some hiding around backlots, some in other lots that weren't directly in front of the McDonalds/Bell Province lot. There were about 5 police vehicles. Cops were giving out illegal modification tickets, just like they do in Toronto. Unsuspecting drivers were still coming in. The crowd was thinning out by 10pm. At the Julep, it seemed moderately busy. The friendly Julep Bouncers were still turning cars away, despite the fact that cars were leaving, and there was at least 40 spots available in the Julep. Drivers were frantically searching for available spaces at the McD's. Some parked as far as Ferrier. The Julep seemed tired and thin. The audience was there, but it seemed like drivers didn't want to get busted, especially if they were going to show and shine at the upcoming Nappy Car Fever. There was a more impressive array of cars at the Julep in the earlier weeks. I'm curious as to what will happen at MC from now on, and what people will do for a new spot. The overcrowded Julep still remains a problem, and the cops that contain it don't help the situation. People just want to gather at friendly meets to chill, and they're been thrown out again! See you all June-24!
